Written and reviewed by Dr Ibrahim Imam, Consultant Neurologist. Last reviewed .
Transient symptoms with infarction (TSI). This is TIA with infarct on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Fully referenced neurology checklist.
Clinical features
- This is TIA with infarct on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
- It is detected on diffusion weighted imaging (DWI)
- Most infarcts are small: 96% are <1mL
- About half of the episodes last <1 hour: about two-thirds last <10 minutes
- The quick recovery is due to the brain compensating rapidly
