Microscopic polyangiitis (MPA): clinical features. This is a systemic ANCA associated vasculitis (AAV). Fully referenced neurology checklist.
Pathology
- This is a systemic ANCA associated vasculitis (AAV)
- It is predominantly a pulmonary-renal syndrome
- It affects capillaries, venules, and arterioles
- It is usually MPO-ANCA positive but it may be PR3-ANCA positive
- There are no immune complex deposits on immunofluorescence
